In-School Weekly Lessons – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all group lessons delivered by Mix Stars within schools.

1. Minimum Numbers

If the minimum number of students required for a class is not achieved, Mix Stars reserves the right to cancel the programme.

In this case, any payments already made will be refunded in full.

2. Safety & Liability

Mix Stars and its staff will take all reasonable precautions to ensure classes are safe.

Mix Stars cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained during classes unless caused by our negligence.

Students participate at their own risk.

3. Behaviour & Respect

Learners are expected to behave respectfully towards tutors, other students, and equipment.

Bullying, disruptive, or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated.

Mix Stars reserves the right to remove any student from the programme, without refund, if behaviour issues persist.

Intentional or reckless damage to equipment may result in repair or replacement costs being passed to parents/guardians.

4. Medical & Learning Needs

Parents/guardians must declare all relevant medical conditions or additional needs at registration and keep Mix Stars updated.

Mix Stars cannot accept responsibility for incidents arising from undeclared conditions.

5. Illness & Attendance

Children should not attend class if they have been unwell within the 48 hours prior to the lesson (including sickness, flu, or other contagious illness).

Mix Stars is unable to provide refunds for absence due to illness or other personal circumstances.

6. Photography & Media

Unless notified in writing, Mix Stars may take photos or short video clips during classes for training, documentation, or promotional purposes (e.g., website, flyers, social media).

Students will not be named or otherwise personally identified without prior written consent.

Where consent is not granted, Mix Stars will ensure that students are either not included or not personally identifiable in any media.

7. Bookings & Payments

Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been received.

Paid spaces will always be prioritised.

Fees are non-refundable once the programme has started, except in cases of cancellation by Mix Stars (see section 1).

For 1-2-1, Small Group and workshop DJ Lessons (outside of a school setting)

These Terms & Conditions apply to all private DJ lessons delivered by Mix Stars in homes or other non-school venues. By booking lessons, you agree to the following:

1. Safety, Liability & Supervision

Mix Stars and its staff will take all reasonable precautions to ensure lessons are safe.

Mix Stars cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained during lessons, whether at a student’s home or elsewhere, unless caused by our negligence.

Learners participate at their own risk.

Where lessons take place in the home, parents/guardians remain responsible for appropriate supervision of children.

2. Use of Student/Family Equipment

Where lessons take place on equipment belonging to the student/family/venue, Mix Stars is not responsible for faults, technical issues, or damage that may occur during normal use.

It is the responsibility of the student/family/venue to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and set up appropriately prior to the lesson.

3. Behaviour & Respect

Learners are expected to treat tutors, equipment, and the learning environment with respect.

Mix Stars reserves the right to terminate a lesson or remove a student from the programme, without refund, in cases of persistent disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful behaviour.

Intentional or reckless damage to equipment may result in charges being passed to the student/family.

4. Medical & Learning Needs

All relevant medical conditions or additional learning needs must be declared at the time of registration and kept up to date.

Mix Stars cannot accept responsibility for incidents arising from undeclared conditions.

5. Illness & Health Declarations

If a student or any household member has experienced illness (including contagious conditions such as flu, sickness, or COVID-like symptoms) within 48 hours prior to a lesson, you must inform Mix Stars.

Where necessary, an alternative session will be arranged.

6. Photography & Media

Unless you notify us in writing, photos or short video clips may be taken during lessons for training, documentation, or promotional purposes (e.g., social media, website, flyers).

Students will not be identified by full name without prior written consent.

Where consent is not granted, Mix Stars will ensure that individuals are either not included, or not personally identifiable in any media.

7. Bookings, Cancellations & Refunds

Bookings are only confirmed once payment has been received. Paid sessions will always be given priority.

We do not issue refunds for missed or cancelled sessions due to your own circumstances. However, we will always try to reschedule where reasonable.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in the lesson being forfeited.

Delays to lesson start times caused by the student/family cannot be refunded or extended beyond the scheduled end time.

If a lesson is cancelled by Mix Stars due to exceptional or emergency circumstances, we will offer either an alternative date or a refund for the missed session.

8. Force Majeure

Mix Stars will not be liable for cancellations or disruptions to lessons caused by events beyond our reasonable control (including but not limited to extreme weather, illness, transport disruption, or emergencies).
